NMN is a precursor of NAD+, a molecule every cell uses to produce energy and run repair enzymes, and one that declines with age. Supplementing NMN reliably raises blood NAD+ in humans.
Everything past that sentence is where honesty is required, so each claim below carries its evidence grade.
Raises NAD+ levels
Repeated human trials from 250 mg up to 2,000 mg a day raised blood NAD+, with increases showing up within about two weeks.
Blood lipids
One placebo-controlled trial found significantly lower triglycerides in healthy adults. A 2024 meta-analysis calls overall metabolic effects modest.
Physical performance
Some trials report better aerobic capacity or walking distance; another, at 250 mg, raised NAD+ without improving grip strength or walking speed.
Sleep quality
Small trials in older adults suggest modest improvements in sleep and physical fatigue. Too thin to promise anything yet.
